I started singing in church, plays, roadshows and talent shows at age 2. At age 9, I began taking violin and piano. In junior high, I was in treble choir as a 1st soprano. I played 1st violin (usually 2nd or 3rd chair) in the junior high orchestra. I continued in both choir and orchestra in high school. Private violin lessons started when I was 15.

In college, my vocal jazz journey continued. I performed using a microphone and I often sang the melody as the only 1st soprano. We performed at the Sun Valley Jazz Festival and a Jazz Festival in Colorado. College is when I took private voice lessons from 2 instructors (classical training). I sang songs in both French and Italian.

I made it into both audition-only all state and all-northwest choirs as a 1st alto. My senior year I was in audition-only madrigal/jazz choir. I was the only one selected in my school. I sang at state solo competitions songs in Italian.

I have been asked to sing in many funeral services. When asked, they often gave me a song that I would practice and have it performance-ready within 48-72 hours. My ear for music is such that I can hear a song and remember the melody right away. I advanced to ear training 4 in college, not needing to take the others. My ear for music is highly developed.

I continue to develop my musical talents. I was my church’s choir director for four years. I accompanied my church’s children’s choir for 3 years. I also continue to perform duets, plus I play in a Christmas orchestra annually. I sing in church both in the church choir, and as a soloist.

I have also composed music. Music is my passion. My children are also very musical. My husband is both a supporter and is musical as well. My life is fulfilled because of music.
